The Sports Centre is part of Beaufort Co-operative Academy. It was first opened in September 1974 and the Centre is exclusively used by students during the Academy hours.
During the evenings, at weekends and the Academy holidays the centre is available for public use.
Discounts are available for bookings from community groups, junior clubs and block bookings.
Casual pay-as-you-play bookings are welcome bookings taken up to 7 days in advance.
The Sports Centre caters for school swimming during term - time and a full community sports programme in the evenings and weekends, including school holidays on a casual pay-as-you-play or block booking basis.
Beaufort Sports Centre has received a large funding grant totalling (£470,000) from Sport England, Gloucestershire County Council and Beaufort Co-operative Academy. The Sports Centre has undergone major improvements involving the construction of a new fitness suite on the first floor, the total refurbishment of the swimming pool changing rooms and new extended reception area The total project in two phases started in July last year with completion scheduled for the end of September 2013.
The aim of this refurbishment is to create a larger health and fitness centre with the current provision being separate into two different areas,
- Refurbishment of swimming pool changing rooms
- a new modern Cardio area
- a new fitness class exercise area catering for classes ranging from Zumba to Pilates
- a weights room with state of the art equipment to suit all.
- a new ground floor café area
- provision of a lift to the first floor
- a new separate and welcoming reception area
With the help of Funding from Sport England Improvement Grant, the Academy has carried out repairs to the pool structure and provided new changing facilities with access for all.
These improvements will help to promote our aim of getting more people more active more often, from within our community.”
Beaufort Sports Centre is open to the local community with no memberships.
